Today, Toyota/Atlantic series drivers ran two 2-hour test sessions on Nazareth Speedways 1-mile oval track. Gormley, Ontario's Jonathan Macri, piloting the NTN Bearings Swift, managed the 4th fastest lap time in the morning session (00:23:47).

"I am satisfied with my car's performance this morning", Jonathan said, "considering that I drove conservatively, trying to get a feel for the track and to determine how we could improve the car".

Handling was one are of concern for Jonathan. As a result, the team quickly went to work modifying the car's suspension in preparation for the afternoons test session. According to Jonathan, "drastic changes were made". For Jonathan's afternoon test session, the changes seemed to improve the performance of the NTN car; however 30 laps into the session, with one hour of test time remaining, Jonathan's engine let go, unfortunately. "It's to bad I couldn't get more time on the track, but luckily this is our backup engine. It's better that we test with our backup then with our race day motor. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's practice runs, and I am confident that our team will prepare the best possible car for me", Jonathan said.

Official qualifying takes place on Saturday, May 5th. Race day is Sunday, May 6th.
