Atlantics Stocked With Barber Talent

Ten of the 22 racers in this weekend's season opening Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach are Skip Barber trained talent. The relationship between Toyota Atlantic and the Barber-CART alliance continues to bear fruit in the form of young, aggressive racers with hopes of landing rides at the CART FedEx Championship level.

These ten represent near-half the Atlantic field with their sights set on Champ Car. All have spent a considerable amount of time racing or testing in the Barber Dodge Pro Series or Skip Barber Race Series. 2000 Pro-Series Co-Rookie of the Year Michael Valiante and 2000 Formula Dodge National Champion Anthony Simone are among two of the notable that have raced with us before graduating to complete another portion of their racing resume.

The complete list of Skip Barber trained entrants is as follows:

Guy Cosmo, Bohemia, New York
Joey Hand, Sacramento, California
Steve Lorenzen, Sonoma, California
Jonathan Macri, Gormley, Ontario Canada
Rocky Moran Jr., Cote de Caza, California
Stephan C. Roy, Trois-Riveres, Canada
Grant Ryley, San Jose, California
Anthony Simone, Holland Landing, Ontario, Canada
T.J. Bell, Sparks, Nevada
Michael Valiante, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada
