LOOKING FOR A WIN

Jonathan Macri is on the verge of a win. With three podium finishes under his belt already this season, the team is looking for a first place victory in the #84 Polestar Atlantic NTN Bearings Toyota swift this weekend in Portland.

“We have really been consistent throughout the season so far, but now we just need to take it to the next level,” commented Macri. “We just need to qualify closer to the front of the pack here in Portland so we don’t have to make up as many positions in the race.”

Macri, who finished 2nd in Portland last year is anxious to get back to a track where he feels very comfortable, “this is one of my most favorite tracks on the circuit,” said Macri. We tested here a couple months back and I believe the test gave us the baseline that we need to learn from, so I feel very confident going into this race.”

The Gormley, Ont., driver is currently second in the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship point standings with 56, only 11 points behind A.J. Allmendinger.

Look for Macri to position himself for a win on the 1.969 – mile road course for round five of the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship part of the G.I. Joe’s 200 event at Portland International Raceway.

This weekend will begin with a 30 – minute practice session Friday morning, followed by an afternoon qualifying session at 12:50 p.m. PST. Saturday morning begins with the second and final qualifying session at 9:05 a.m. PST. Round five of the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship race is scheduled to being at 4:00 p.m. PST.
