Cleveland, Ohio (July 4, 2003) – After the final qualifying session this afternoon, #84 NTN Bearings driver Jonathan Macri will start 6th on the grid for tomorrow’s race in Cleveland. While the cars pulled onto the track, rain fell as the ominous black clouds rolled in. Luckily, the sky cleared minutes before the start of the race giving the drivers the opportunity to drive under fairly good circumstances.

Despite the better road conditions, Macri, who turned a fast time of 1:05:564, was disappointed in the new tires that were expected to give him that extra push in an effort to pick up time. “It would have been nice to do better in the second qualifying session, but we didn’t”, Macri stated. “We are still making some changes to the car but we just are not carrying as much speed as we should be. The car is consistent, but we need to do better tomorrow, and we will.” Macri, never losing his confidence in himself or his team, looks forward to doing better on Friday in his continual push for his first win of the season.

Round six of the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship race is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. EST tomorrow. Speed Channel will televise the race from Burke Lakefront Airport tape-delayed on Sunday, July 6 and again on Monday, July 7 at 1:00 p.m. EST.
