Coming off a successful weekend in Cleveland with a second place podium finish, Jonathan Macri is ready to go for the win in front of a hometown crowd in Toronto this weekend for round seven of the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship series.

Macri, who finished second in Toronto last year, is looking for an even better finish this year. The #84 NTN Bearings driver is thrilled to be racing on the 1.755-mile street course as family, friends and race fans cheer him on to victory.

“I was born and raised in the Toronto area, so this race is always very special for me, “ said an enthused Macri. “When the fans are cheering me on, it makes me push harder for them, so I am really looking forward to this weekend. I have raced on this street course numerous times before and have always done really well here. This will be my third Atlantic race here in Toronto, so I am pretty comfortable with how the car should be set-up here. It’s a quick track.”

Currently, Macri is third in the Atlantic championship standings with 80 points, just seven points behind Ryan Dalziel.

Macri will be participating in various off track activities throughout the week in the Toronto area. Wednesday morning, July 9, Macri will be playing in the Molson Indy Charity Golf Classic at Wooden Sticks Golf Club teeing off at 11:30 a.m. Thursday evening, July 10, Macri will participate in the Molson Canadian Pit Party featuring Macri as a celebrity bartender at John St. in the Toronto entertainment district. (**note to media: for both events Macri will be available for a photo opportunity; please call in advance to set up photos/interview)

On-track activities will begin Friday, July 11 with a practice session at 8:30 a.m. followed by a provisional qualifying session at 1:20 p.m. Race day, Saturday, July 12, begins with a practice/qualifying session leading up to the race at 4:00 p.m. All times are Eastern. Speed Channel will televise the race from Toronto on Saturday, July 12 at 4:30 p.m. EST. Please note the race will be televised the same day with a 30-minute delay.
