Macri Heads Into Molson Indy Toronto 6th in the Grid
Toronto, Ontario (July 12, 2003) – After the final qualifying session this morning, #84 NTN Bearings --driver and local favorite Jonathan Macri will start 6th on the grid for today’s race in downtown Toronto. In a scene reminiscent of Cleveland’s qualifier, rain sprinkled on and off throughout the session and Macri ended up 6th on the grid.
Macri, who turned a fast time of 1:06.322, was disappointed in today’s qualifier but is keeping his sprits up. “We definitely have some things we are going to change for the race, as we are going into 6th position”, Macri stated. “I am not discouraged though as we went into the Cleveland race 6th and ended up on podium. We are keeping our confidence high and look forward to seeing some positive results this afternoon.” Round seven of the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship race is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m. local time today. Speed Channel will televise the race from Toronto live.
