(Gormley, Ontario) July 28, 2003 - Currently third in the 2003 Toyota Atlantic Championship standings with 94 points, Jonathan Macri is ready to compete and close the gap this weekend in Quebec for the Le Grand Prix de Trois Rivieres, August 1 – 3. Just fours points behind second place leader Ryan Dalziel and 31 points behind leader A.J. Allmendinger, Macri is hungry for a win.

“If there is one race I’ve really been looking forward to it’s Trois Rivieres,” said Macri. “I enjoy this track because it’s such a tight and narrow street course. There are no long straight-aways, so there is no room for error here. The car set-up has to be precise. Not only is the racing great here in Trois Rivieres but also, the Canadian fans are terrific. They are always so supportive of the drivers in the Atlantic series and that just completes the racing weekend here for me.”

This weekend will begin with a 30 – minute practice session Friday morning, followed by a provisional qualifying session at 2:55 p.m. EST. Saturday begins with a morning practice session at 9:10 p.m. EST, followed by the final qualifying session at 2:40 p.m. EST. Round eight of the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship race is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. EST, Sunday, August 3. Please note that the Speed Channel will televise the race live at 1:00 p.m. EST. Macri will also be available to sign autographs on Saturday afternoon at 11:15 a.m. in front of the CART series trailer.
